Rock haulage loop design in automated underground mine planning

Towards automated planning of underground mine expansion, the algorithm is developed to model rock haulage from faces to final terminals within the limits of the mine, with regard to the preset constraints. The modeling uses the data bases of the equipment in service in the mine, digital models of geotechnical objects, mine working plan and transport chains of rock elevation to ground surface. The algorithm, when implemented, represents a simulation meant for the underground mine operation planning with regard to basic geotechnical parameters and constrains connected with rock haulage inside the mine. The rock haulage loop design includes calculation of rock haulage time per each face with regard to the face location, physical and mechanical properties of rocks being transported, and the equipment specifica tions. Additionally, statistics is collected toward the improved analysis and decision-making for the optimization of geotechnology and logistic with regard to geological and geotechnical conditions in the mine.

Keywords: transportation problem, rock haulage, underground mine operation planning, mining geological information systems, process flow modeling.
