The first data on tellurium and bismuth mineralization of Durmin gold and silver deposit in the Sikhote-Alin

The mineralogy and geochemistry analyses of Au and Ag ore at Durmin deposit exhibited high content of bismuth-bearing minerals. The comprehensive survey of the material composition by the advanced and high-precision X-ray spectrum microscopy for the first time ever revealed and described native bismuth, bismuth glance, emplectite, Agand Sb-bearing emplectite, aikinite, bismuth-bearing fahl ores, as well as some mineral phases of CuBi1.5S2.5, CuPbBiS2.5, CuPbBi2S4, Pb3Bi5S2, Pb2Bi7S and Pb4Bi3S3 in the test deposit. Furthermore, tellurium mineralization is also for the first time discovered. Tellurium-bearing minerals represent two mineral groups–tellurides (tsumoite and hessite) and sulfide–tellurides (bismuth telluride). The chemical compositions of the new-revealed minerals in the gold–sulfide–bismuth–telluride mineralization at Durmin deposit are described. The analyses of interactions of the minerals, as well as their structural and textural features identified three stages of minerogenesis and chains of mineral formation within the stages. The data on the contents and composition variations of native bismuth, bismuth-bearing fahl ores, sulfosalts and tellurides are presented. The discovered mineralogical and geochemical peculiarities of Durmin ore imply introduction of integrated and more comprehensive processing, including recovery of gold, silver and the other associate components.
