Sulfation–hydrochlorination process for selective recovery of Fe, Mn, Ni, Co, Cu and Al from tungsten concentrate sodium agglomeration and leaching cake

The creation of innovative zones for the development and production of environmentally friendly technologies, as well as methods for their use, further studies on the extraction of non-ferrous metals from waste from mining and metallurgical production remain relevant. The aim of this study is the use of sulfatizing roasting and hydrochlorination to more fully extract Fe, Mn, Cu, Ni, Co from the cake obtained after soda sintering and leaching of tungsten concentrate, and to save Mo, W, Nb, Ta in the cake after leaching.Metal ions are extracted from the cake by sulphating firing, which is carried out by oleum at W : T = 1: 1, temperature = 250—300 °C and time 4 hours, followed by hydrochlorination of sulfate cake with 2 N HCl solution, 240 g / l NaCl. due to the intensification of the leaching process. The developed technology leads to a more complete extraction of metals from the materials containing them into the solution and can be used in the processing of concentrates, industrial products, and solid wastes containing metals.

Keywords: tungsten concentrate, metals, sulphating firing, hydrochlorination, sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, leaching, recovery.
