Studies of the N. V. Chersky Mining Institute of the North to improve the geotechnologies, methods and tools for the efficient development of subsoil in permafrost

This work considers the analyses of geomechanical and geotechnological features of the development of solid mineral deposits of the Russian North and their impact on the efficiency and safety of mining production. The work presents the results of the Institute’s research for 2020 according State Program «Integrated study of geomechanical and thermal processes, properties of geomaterials and rock masses under conditions of naturally low temperatures, development of the fundamentals of innovative technologies, methods and technical means of exploitation of subsoil in permafrost» addressed the challenges to improving existing technologies and developing innovative, efficient, environmentally safety new ones, methods and techniques for the development of solid mineral deposits in permafrost, taking into account as much as possible the specific conditions of their mining.
