Instrumentation of process water treatment for mobile processing plants

Basic design and technological solutions on instrumentation of process water treatment for metal-bearing sand washing using mobile processing plants are presented. The analysis of the existing water treatment flowcharts reveals their disadvantages which impede the whole cycle of metal production from placers. Application of the thinlayer chromatography principle of liquid–solid separation is discussed in terms of extreme operating conditions of processing equipment in placer mining. The version of a new modular-type thin-layer apparatus is presented with qualitative and quantitative estimation of its separative capacity tested in production conditions. At the capacity of 100 m3/h of hydraulic suspension, the apparatus design allows recycling of 85% of process water. This instrumentation reduces direct contact between environmentally hazardous flows and the natural environment by many times by generating a local water circuit. The technical solutions to enhance the functional capability of the instrumentation in capture of small and thin sizes of valuable components from polymineral hydraulic suspensions are described. The proposed technical solution combines the functions of water treatment and enrichment in the same apparatus. Moreover, the unified design of modular type allows assembling of equipment configurations of different capacity and purpose. The examples of alternate designs of the proposed instrumentation are given.
