Analysis of mineral matter in coal have a great importance both for understanding of their genesis, and for the solution of various practical tasks. This article shown the results of using scanning electronic microscopy (SEM) for studying of mineral matter of coal. SEM allows to identify features of a microstructure of coals compounds, their anatomy and petrographic features, structure of a mineral matrix. We display the restrictions of traditional coal-petrographic methods which are capable to definite some types of mineral matter: clay minerals, iron sulfides, carbonates, oxides of silicon and other mineral compounds. In addition to these techniques application we recommend using of SEM combined with power-dispersive microanalysis for research coals compounds and their mineral components. It is an operational and reliable method of diagnostics of mineral components of coal. Microphotographs of kaolinite, hydromica, pyrite, calcite, quartz, biotite, feldspar, chalcopyrite, native sulfur, halite, galenite, hematite, apatite, barite, rutile and some other minerals as a part of coal organic matter are given. A number of microphotographs of minerals is followed by their power ranges.

Considered are the issues of traction calculation tubular belt conveyor whose path includes straight and curved portions. For curved sections of the tracks due to the possible torsion of the trajectory adopted a spiral trajectory, as well as curvilinear motion of the tape in the vertical plane is convex up and down with a constant radius of curvature. Defined additional load on the rollers caused by the tension of the band bending on raichoor. Given these loads are defined separate portions of the total resistance force depending on the type of route angularity: component from the rotation of the roller, component by pressing the rollers in the tape component from the deformation of the load and ribbons, as well as the total resistance force on a single raichoor. Composed of a nonlinear differential equation for the tension change along the length of the curved portion, a solution is proposed numerical method with use of the computer. In the resulting expression for the resistance movement on a curved area taken into account: the type of tape and its characteristics, the type of rollers, the initial tension of the tape, the type of cargo, the characteristic of the curved portion of the track, etc.

The question about modern intelligent information processing methods usage for ball mill filling degree evaluation is considered. Vibroacceleration signal has been measured on a semi-industrial mill for that purpose under the conditions of different ball loading. It is made with accelerometer, attached to a mill pin. A training set for a neural network is formed with the help of spectral analysis methods, applied to the obtained signal. Trained neural network is able to find the correlation between mill pin vibroacceleration signal and mill filling degree. It is found that the neural network is much more insensitive to noise disturbance, caused by ball loading change, for ball mill filling estimation in comparison with vibro-acoustic analyzer.

Dumping is one of the basic processes in open pit mining. As open pit mine gets deeper, amount of overburden grows. Stripping can be intensified with higher capacity mining and handling equipment, but it is sometimes impossible to employ such equipment due to its heavy weight. Operating conditions become un-safe because of low strength and stability of a dump. The paper shows that the indicated problem is resolvable by means of arranging truck dump areas beyond the boundaries of a probable failure wedge, which is achieved in dumping with the self-propelled vibrating stacker designed at the Chinakal Institute of Mining, SB RAS. Furthermore, safety of dumping can be enhanced by increasing the dump stability. To this effect, it is proposed to compact dump rocks by the purpose-designed vibrating machine. Optimized safety conditions for operation of large dump trucks are provided by joint use of the spreading and compacting vibrating machines. Application of the proposed equipment enables safe and efficient overburden handling in stripping at deep levels in open pit mines.

Mathematical models of elastic contact stress field in polycrystalline geomaterials at their interaction using the surface of section. Without violating the generality, as interactive of geomaterials selected set of structural blocks formed in the rock massif at the intersection of multi-directional cracks. It justifies the presence of a large friction between the structural units on the basis of fractal origin of the interacting surfaces of separateness. The study developed mathematical models involving self-consistent field method allowed us to obtain expressions for calculating the contact stresses on possible structural levels. A computer experiment to determine the contact stresses between blocks in the rock massif. Using one of the mathematical models, solved the problem, as a particular case, about the stress state of the contact wheel and rail. Built this model in the experiment in uniaxial compression. Research of mathematical models that are reduced to the system of equations enabled us to solve the paradox of Bridgman consists in the fact that under uniaxial compression failure occurs by propagation of cracks along the compression axis, contrary to the conclusions of the classical theory of continuum mechanics. Conducted computer research enabled to give a full explanation of the nature of the fracture in lubricated and unlubricated ends microabrasion test, and to get the relative difference in the strength limits.

ABOUT ONE WIDESPREAD ERROR OF USING FINITE ELEMENT METHOD WHEN DETERMINING OF THE GEOMATERIALS STRESS-STRAIN STATE

Khalkechev R.K., Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences,
Assistant Professor, e-mail: syrus@list.ru

As you know when you build a discrete mesh models must satisfy the condition of completeness. It is that unlimited reduction of the sizes of finite elements and increase their number there has been a convergence behavior of the discrete model with continuous (solid medium). However, for geomaterials, there is a limit in reducing the size of finite elements associated with the existence of the elementary volume. In the study of minerals, elementary volumes which are very small, the use of the finite element method in the determination of their stress-strain state does not give such significant differences with the actual results of observation. At the same time for rocks and rock masses (elementary volumes up to several cubic meters) application of the finite element method is invalid. Unfortunately, this fact is in the existing works ignored, and as a result – attributed to the real geomaterial properties, they do not possess. To resolve this problem, this article proposed a new modified method of finite elements adapted for the study of geomaterials and to significantly improve the accuracy of the developed discrete models the stress-strain state rocks and rock masses.

The key current problem in complex ore dressing is selection of bulk concentrates as the selection efficiency governs the final performance of beneficiation. Available standard approaches to preparation of bulk concentrates for the follow-up selection feature ponderous industrial equipment and high energy and material inputs.
It is proposed to handle the problem by using:
—Combination gravity–flotation circuits: fusion of the two concentrates in order to redistribute residual concentration of surfactants from the surface of flotation concentrate to the surface of gravity concentrate and creating thereby favorable conditions for the follow-up selection;
—Biotechnologies to treat the surface of flotation concentrate before the selection circuit in order to remove the film of collectors from the surface of sulfides. For proof tests in laboratory conditions, the necessary microbial strains have been sampled. The flotation tests prove usability of microbiological approaches in complex ore dressing.
The proposed technologies as compared with the standard methods are ecology-friendly due to reduced consumption of toxic agents and feature low energy inputs, which is important for the mining and metallurgy industry.

Estimation method of current and future condition of water proof formation (VZT) is presented due to the influence of mining and geological and man-made factors based on engineering methods and mathematic modeling methods applying different criteria of safe condition. Distinctive feature of the developed method is an opportunity to make an assessment not only in the local «problematic» sites, but also on the whole area of the minefield using the developed algorithm of data integration and visualization on the considered extraction zones in the minefield. The method assumes identification of natural and man-made dangerous zones (PTOZ) based on the analysis of the value of the general estimation criteria of VZT condition in the considered site developed by the authors. The general criteria represents an algebraic sum of partial criterions with specified weight coefficients. The partial criterions are based on the assessment of natural (geological) and man-made factors. The partial criterions and consequently the general criteria are reduced to normalized form, so that distortion of the partial criterion provides rated value equal or larger than one. In the next stage in the identified PTOZ a degree of their danger is determined through clarifying analysis based on engineering methods and mathematic modeling. Application of the method by the example of one of the actual mines of Verkhnekamskoye potash and potash-magnesium salt deposit (VKMKS) is considered.

In potash mines of «Uralkali» PJSC by the production process of potash chloride clay-salt sludge is formed after potash ore processing. Clay-salt sludge in the form of sludge pulp is located in sludge dumps, is admixed into salt waste pulp and is disposed in special mine wor-kings driven in underlying rock salt. Areas of the current sludge dumps are limited, their expansion needs heavy investment, and construction of new ones creates negative man-made impact on the environment. In recent years disposal of sludge of different origin in geotubes becomes more popular in foreign plants. One of the options for geotubes application in potash mines can be their utilization for disposal of clay-salt sludge in mine conditions in mined out stopes, another one – their utilization for increasing capacity of the current surface sludge dumps. The «Galurgia» institute based on «Uralkali» PJSC mines has performed experimental tests on disposal of clay-salt sludge in geotubes. The tests have been carried out in mine conditions and in sludge dump. Results of the tests are positive. As a result of dewatering at initial density of sludge pulp 1.33 t/m3 in geotubes the density of settlings of sludge solids has reached up to 1.8 t/m3. Sludge disposal in geotubes in mine conditions in Berezniki 4 mine can account for up to 15% of the formed sludge volume. Increase of capacity of the current sludge dumps due to expansion of dam height using geotubes makes up to 10%. Considered process of geotube application enables to perform extraction and processing of potash ore without construction of new ground sludge dumps until the end of mine life.

We have investigated the geomechanical state of rock mass in the vicinity of the four slopes of adjacent seams 1 and 2 using numerical finite element modeling. The author used a complex computer programs CoalPillar, developed at the Department of Geotechnology SibGIU adapted to the geological and mining conditions of one of the mines Erunakovskogo geological and economic region of Kuzbass. Numerical simulation of finite element method was carried out with two versions of the natural stress field outside the influence of mine workings: the gravitational field of stress and geotectonic stress field. On the stability of slopes on the lower seam 1 significantly affects the upper seam 2, since the height of the arch fracture rock slopes in the seam 1 reaches the roof of the seam 2. Seam 1 has little effect on soil heave rocks slope on the sides of the seam 2. The workings of coal is expected to spin, so the vertical stress in the 1.2 to 1.5 times the tensile strength of coal under compression in natural conditions. The proposed method of assessment of geomechanical parameters when changing geological and mining conditions will develop appropriate preventive measures and recommendations for inclusion in the passport of fastening of developments that will improve the safety of mining operations.
